At Trinity College, a secondary quad adjacent to the college’s central green was segmented over time by random paths. Views from Mather Hall’s ground floor were obstructed by a grade change, leaving it visually disconnected from quad activity. Hoerr Schaudt reorganized the circulation pattern to prioritize the most heavily-used routes and shaped turf in oval mounds to deter new desire paths and to create a destination for students wanting to relax on lawn.
