Located just across from the densely-planted Botany Pond, the garden at Cobb Gate offers a ‘dry land’ counterpart with open lawn on which students can relax between classes. In addition to lawn, the garden features a carefully-orchestrated natural community of native plants, including grasses, forbs and perennials.

The planting design responds to the complex pattern of light and shade within the quarter-acre space and was designed in collaboration with a University committee comprised of botany department faculty, students and facilities staff
