A trial garden unlike any other greets visitors to Ball Horticultural Company, the green industry's leader in ornamental horticulture development. In contrast to the trial garden tradition of rows and sharply-defined annual beds, the redesigned 7.5 acre garden showcases creative displays within a permanent structural framework of rolling topography, winding pathways and bold forms.

As visitors walk through the garden, they discover seven distinct garden experiences, including woodlands, meadows, shade and sun container areas, a series of “sky frames,” and a unique comparison garden. Hoerr Schaudt has been recognized internationally for its cutting-edge planting design in the garden which integrates summer-flower bedding within a layered network of trees, shrubs and perennials.
