Hoerr Schaudt assisted the Chicago Park District in creating a world-class botanic destination on the grounds of the Garfield Park Conservatory. This garden takes urban greening as its guiding principle, yet also draws upon the conservatory's historic roots, which include noted landscape pioneer, Jens Jensen. The garden emphasizes, rather than hides, its connection to the surrounding neighborhood. Framed views out of the garden include classic Chicago apartment buildings and the 'el' as it runs along the southern edge of the garden.
