Hoerr Schaudt Landscape Architects designed a serene, park-like experience for the family living within this four-acre property. Dense evergreens establish a rich tapestry of form, color and texture along the property's border and ensure privacy. A gentle drive curves past the front entrance to a parking court hidden by a tall hedge. From the formal terrace at the back of the house, controlled views of selected focal points lead one into adjoining garden areas. The careful sequence of these views guides one from the terrace through an allee to a formal oval lawn with antique bench, through a woodland of broad-leafed ferns to the gated children's garden, and from there to a secluded pool terrace.
