Perched atop a lakefront knoll on a 2.5 acre site, this new home was designed by Rugo Raff Architects. In response to the steep terrain and architectural style of the home, horizontal features play an important part of the design. Elements such as stone walls and a segmented stair with multiple terraces elegantly unify landform with structural form. The design pays careful attention to the sensory experience of materials and seasonal planting, which contribute to the richness and beauty of the Michigan woodland.
